Job Summary
Planet Earth Health Care (PEHC) is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team for the summer as an Administrative Assistant. This 8-week position, funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience supporting our HR, Accounting, and Billing departments. The ideal candidate is dependable, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality while supporting day-to-day administrative operations.
Responsibilities
Human Resources Support
- Assist with onboarding and employee documentation
- Maintain employee files and records with confidentiality
- Support recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and responding to applicants
- Assist with internal communications and staff coordination
- Help track attendance, schedules, and other HR-related records
Accounting Support
- Organize and maintain accounting documents and files
Processing & Billing Support
- Assist with order processing and billing-related tasks
- Verify customer and payment information accurately
- Update information within internal databases and CRM systems
- Communicate with team members to avoid duplication of work and ensure timely processing
- Assist with tracking pending orders and follow-ups
General Administrative Duties
- Answer emails and provide administrative support to multiple departments
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and documents as needed
- Perform other administrative duties assigned by management
Qualifications
- Must meet the eligibility criteria for the Canada Summer Jobs Program (CSJ)*
- Previous administrative experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with CRM systems is an asset
*CSJ Qualification, applicants must:
- be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee protection in Canada
- be legally entitled to work in Canada, including having a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
Pay: $18.25 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
