Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our team at Namaste Bistro. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in our dining room. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, packing take-out orders, and coordinating seating arrangements to enhance the overall dining experience. Previous experience in food service or restaurant hospitality is preferred, along with strong communication and phone etiquette skills. The Host/Hostess will play a vital role in creating a positive first impression and maintaining smooth operations within the restaurant or hotel environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and takeout orders efficiently using our POS system.
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing inquiries and accommodating special requests
- Maintain a clean and organized host station and waiting area
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service flow
- Handle phone calls professionally, providing information about the restaurant services.
- Assist in managing guest flow during busy hours to minimize wait times
- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to enhance guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or restaurant environment preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Touch Bistro is an asset but not required
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Pay: From $15.90 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 18.0 per week
