Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role (3 set days in the office with the potential for back to the office full-time in the future), for a Senior Associate/Experienced Bookkeeper with 3-6 years of hands-on QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience — this is a non-negotiable requirement. The ideal candidate is fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting professionally and confidently with clients. This role requires proven experience managing complex bookkeeping engagements, including multi-entity structures, intercompany transactions and reconciliations, foreign exchange (FX) transactions, accrual-based accounting, manual journal entries, month-end close processes, and full balance sheet reconciliations. Canadian bookkeeping expertise is essential, including GST/HST (and PST/QST where applicable), payroll remittances, WSIB, CRA correspondence, and maintaining audit-ready financial records.
The successful candidate is highly skilled and tech-savvy individual who needs to be proficient in QBO and comfortable working across a variety of platforms and technologies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, along with strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, as the candidate will need to integrate seamlessly into our business and begin handling client tasks immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and track day-to-day client transactions using QuickBooks Online
- Reconcile client transactions, intercompany transactions, bank details, credit card transactions and taxes on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual basis
- Prepare periodic and annual payroll and HST filings
- Process accounts receivable and payable
- Manage payroll, on behalf of clients, in a timely manner
- Own all aspects of the client relationship
- Must be able to communicate with clients via email or phone and respond to queries from the clients in a timely manner
- Ensure deadlines are met and keep workflow software (Monday.com) up to date
- Collaborate with other team members on larger projects
- Handle confidential information with integrity
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of proven bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online
- Able to commute to the Vaughan office a minimum of three days per week for in-office work
- College diploma or equivalent; program or degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Fluent English verbal and written skills
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently, and within a team
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
Hours: 40 hours a week standard; higher hours in busier times
