We are recruiting motivated individuals for an exciting opportunity to join the Mowi Canada East team as Remote Feeding Technicians. These permanent, full-time positions will be based out of our Feed Operations Center in St. George, NB and offer a strong work life balance with a schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off.
Reporting to the Feeding Operations Manager, this is a key position bridging the gap between traditional aquaculture expertise and modern remote technology while maintaining the company’s high standards of feed management and fish welfare.
As part of our innovative remote feeding team, you will help deliver feeding strategies for our seawater farms across Atlantic Canada. The main duties of this role include continuous, effective, and efficient feed management of the farms, learn and understand fish nutrition, monitor fish behaviour, feeding patterns and appearance, daily communication and collaboration with the farm site teams, and use of modern feeding software and systems to maximizing fish growth and performance.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidates would be detail oriented and willing to work indoors, in a big screen, team environment with a passion for the industry. They would have:
- Related post-secondary education and/or experience
- Proficiency in computer skills and monitoring software
- Strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and diagnose issues from a distance
- Meticulous approach to record-keeping and data monitoring
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Well-developed English verbal, written and virtual communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production demands
- Respect for the need for safe working practices and animal welfare
- Willingness to participate in Mowi’s development and training opportunities
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
