Job Summary:
Broadly defined, the Retail Clerk is responsible for the overall upkeep of the retail store. This position is responsible for maintaining a professional attitude while providing exceptional customer service skills at all times, while ensuring the retail store is kept clean and fully stocked.
Job Responsibilities:
· Provide professional customer service skills at all times
· Greet customers as they walk in the store
· Assist and educate retail customers on our products
· Ensure store shelves and freezers are full of product at all times (nightly fill/as required)
· Follow proper FIFO procedures when filling product on shelves and in freezers
· Weekly specials – identify slow moving / ideal product for specials
· Assist in developing retail strategy
· Report any product due to expire to Supervisor one (1) month prior to date of expiry
· Complete weekly inventory counts to ensure stock accuracy
· Track max and mins to determine what product needs to be ordered for the store
· Reach out and notify Supervisor when inventory is below the min amount
· Ensure the retail store is clean and tidy throughout the day
· Maintain sales targets
· Follow all company policies and procedures related to Human Resources, Health and Safety and Food Safety
· Any additional duties as required
Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Customer service experience considered an asset
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a Team as well as independently
- Experience conducting tracking and data analysis
Physical Abilities:
● Employee must be able to meet the physical demands of the job
● Employee must be able to sit / stand for long periods of time
● Employee must be willing to work in a cold / wet environment
● Employee must be able to bend, lift and twist
● Employee must be able to lift to 50lbs
