Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain. The ideal candidate will manage freight schedules, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely deliveries. This role is vital for maintaining efficient shipping and receiving processes, supporting our commitment to excellent service and operational excellence.
Duties
- Schedule and dispatch freight shipments
- Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and warehouse personnel to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
- Manage shipping & receiving activities, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
- Monitor freight movements, troubleshoot issues, and provide real-time updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain communication through multi-line phone systems, demonstrating professional phone etiquette.
- Analyze shipping data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Oversee third-party logistics (3PL) operations when applicable, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Assist with inventory management related to freight and supply chain activities.
Skills
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficient in typing and multi-line phone systems.
- Analytical skills to interpret shipping data, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Professional demeanor with good phone etiquette for handling inquiries and coordination calls.
