Job Title: Completions Technician
Job Location: Edmonton, AB
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Completions Technician to support project completions processes and Smart Completions activities from construction turnover through to operations handover. This role is ideal for someone with strong document management experience, technical awareness, and a collaborative mindset.
What’s the Job?
- Maintain and update preservation records within SmartCompletions.
- Input updates based on Material Receiving Reports (MRRs), Preservation Matrix changes, and technical query outcomes.
- Participate in meetings with preservation contractors and construction preservation teams.
- Support auditing of uploaded checksheets for monthly CSU audits.
- Coordinate with project engineering teams on preservation-related activities.
- Assist with ITR and punch list management, including maintaining the master punch list.
- Assign ITRs to assets and upload completed documentation.
- Manage Smart Completions data entry for asset and preservation information.
- Issue procedures and work instructions through document control systems.
- Support system handover to commissioning, ensuring readiness and documentation accuracy.
- Generate project reports and track progress metrics.
- Conduct documentation audits and maintain organized records.
- Collaborate across project, engineering, construction, quality, CSU, and operations teams.
- Participate in safety meetings and ensure adherence to all HSE policies and procedures.
What’s Needed?
- 5–10 years of experience in document management and completions activities.
- Experience with Hexagon SmartCompletions is preferred.
- Strong understanding of quality documentation on large-scale projects.
- Familiarity with turnover (TO) and system-based handover processes.
- Knowledge of Inspection & Test Records (ITRs), including “A” and “B” types.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings such as P&IDs and SLDs.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt in dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related systems.
