Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organized Parts Manager to oversee the parts and service department within our dealership. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, dealership experience, and excellent customer service skills. This role involves managing inventory, assisting customers, and supporting sales efforts to ensure efficient operations and high customer satisfaction. The Parts Manager will play a vital role in maintaining the dealership’s reputation for quality service and reliable parts supply.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the parts department, including inventory control and ordering
- Assist customers with parts selection, providing expert advice based on mechanical knowledge
- Upsell additional products and services to enhance customer experience and sales revenue
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper cash handling procedures
- Collaborate with service technicians and sales team to ensure timely parts availability for repairs and sales
- Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, sales, and returns
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and safety regulations
- Provide training and support to staff members within the department as needed
Experience
- Dealership/heavy equipment experience is highly preferred, with a solid understanding of automotive parts and operations
- Mechanic experience or mechanical knowledge is advantageous for providing expert assistance to customers and technicians
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Experience in sales, including upselling techniques to maximize revenue opportunities
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes and parts requirements
- Previous cash handling experience ensuring accuracy in transactions
