Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, providing excellent patient service, and supporting the administrative functions of the office. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients and ensuring smooth daily operations within the dental office. Prior experience with dental or medical office procedures, along with proficiency in electronic medical records, is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in and out using electronic medical records systems such as ABELdent
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and coordinate patient communication.
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately.
- Collect payments, process billing, and handle administrative paperwork related to patient visits.
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling to optimize office workflow.
- Support clinical staff by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring all patient information is current.
- Handle correspondence via email and phone to facilitate smooth communication between patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as ABELdent is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Office experience, including administrative tasks, is necessary to succeed in this role.
