Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Manager/Supervisor. You’ll assist in running the daily business—overseeing production, service, staff, and profitability. This is a handson leadership role perfect for a culinary professional ready to shape a brand from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, mentor, and manage cafe staff to ensure optimal performance and adherence to standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and ensuring proper stock levels are maintained.
- Implement and enforce food safety protocols and sanitation practices to comply with health regulations.
- Collaborate with back-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and communication between the kitchen and eating area.
- Manage cash handling procedures related to cafe operations, including POS system oversight.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Always maintaining a high level of professionalism, including dressing appropriately, being punctual, and behaving in a respectful manner.
Experience
- 2-3 years of proven experience in a bakery/cafe environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for culinary excellence and commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- CPR and first aid certification preferred
