On behalf of our client, Grand River Personnel is recruiting an experienced Grinder/Metal Polisher for a full-time opportunity in Cambridge, ON.
Are you an experienced metal finisher who takes pride in producing a flawless, mirror-quality finish? Our client is looking for a skilled individual with hands-on experience grinding, deburring, blending welds, and polishing stainless steel or metal components to exacting cosmetic standards.
This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking someone with proven metal finishing experience, a strong eye for detail, and a stable employment history who is looking for a long-term opportunity with a well-established manufacturing company.
Hours of Work: Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 3:30pm, Friday: 7:00am – 2:00pm
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $23.00/hr (dependent on experience) + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly
- Grind, deburr, blend, sand, and polish fabricated metal components to achieve a smooth, cosmetic finish
- Remove weld marks, scale, scratches, and imperfections while maintaining part specifications
- Produce high-quality mirror and brushed finishes on automotive components
- Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet strict cosmetic and quality standards
- Safely operate grinders, polishers, sanders, and other finishing equipment
- Assemble finished components and small shipping crates as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Report quality concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards to the Supervisor
- Perform additional production duties as required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience grinding, deburring, and polishing metal components in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Experience producing high-quality cosmetic or mirror finishes is strongly preferred
- Comfortable blending welds and removing imperfections without damaging finished surfaces
- Excellent attention to detail with pride in producing precision workmanship
- Strong manual dexterity and experience using hand and power finishing tools
- Demonstrated job stability and a reliable work history
- Able to work independently while maintaining production quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing consistent, high-quality work
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- PPE required: Facial Respirator (clean-shaven face required), safety glasses, and long pants
- CSA-approved safety footwear required
