Shift/Hours: Mon-fri 8am 8hrs day + Occasional OT
Our client is seeking an experienced CFAA Certified Fire Alarm Technician for a 4–8 week project in Hamilton.
The technician will primarily support fire alarm verification work and must have previous hands-on verification experience. The ideal candidate is technically capable, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with contractors, engineers, and other personnel on active job sites.
This position requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of their responsibilities, and complete all required documentation accurately.
- Perform fire alarm verification work in accordance with project requirements.
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and verify fire alarm systems and devices.
- Identify deficiencies and issues discovered during verification.
- Complete detailed verification paperwork and documentation.
- Work with contractors, engineers, and other trades to address job-site issues.
- Maintain an organized and professional approach while working on active sites.
- Work with various fire alarm systems and equipment.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and site requirements.
- Work at heights and access equipment located above ceilings or in difficult-to-reach areas.
- Complete assigned work accurately and within project timelines.
- Be available for after-hours work when project requirements require it.
- Valid CFAA certification/licence required.
- Previous hands-on fire alarm verification experience required.
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass required security/background checks.
- Strong understanding of the responsibilities of a CFAA Technician.
- Notifier, Siemens, and/or Mircom ESD experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing verification paperwork.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable dealing directly with contractors and engineers.
- Customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and take control of difficult situations when required.
- Ability to work after hours when necessary.
- Reliable transportation and ability to consistently arrive at the Hamilton project site on time.
Candidates must be able to:
- Climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Work from high-lift equipment at heights of up to approximately 40 feet.
- Work above ceilings, within ducts, crawl spaces, and other confined or difficult-to-access areas.
- Stand for prolonged periods.
- Lift approximately 35 lbs.
- Perform the normal physical duties associated with CFAA fire alarm technician work.
