Accounting Technician * New position
JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Corporate Financial Controller based in Québec, the Accounting Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Labrie Group Solutions. The incumbent ensures the accuracy of financial records, manages accounts payable activities, assists with government remittances and financial reporting, and provides administrative support for various accounting functions.
In addition, this position plays an important role in supporting employee experience by coordinating administrative Human Resources processes related to the onboarding of new employees and maintaining employee records.
- Maintain accounting records using computerized accounting systems.
- Record journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare trial balances and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Generate and monitor accounts payable while ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Verify and reconcile supplier statements.
- Process payments to suppliers according to company procedures.
- Prepare and remit GST/HST and other applicable tax filings.
- Assist in preparing financial, accounting and statistical reports.
- Support budget preparation and financial analysis as required.
- Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Finance team to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
IN YOUR TOOLKIT
- College diploma (Diploma or Degree) in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Experience with accounts payable and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience supporting Human Resources administration is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset to support operations across Canada.
