Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team for the start of the 2026-2027 school year beginning on August 26th. The ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment to safety while ensuring the timely and efficient transportation of passengers. This role involves driving the school 15 passenger vans to transport children to and from school. There may also be additional hours available for field trip transportation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to designated locations.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a safe driving record.
- Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the bus.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding schedules, routes, and any changes in service.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of daily trips, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is preferred.
- Strong writing skills for maintaining accurate records and reports.
- The successful candidate must have or be able to receive a vulnerable sector police check.
- The successful candidate must hold a Class 4 license in good standing, and provide DWA with a Driver's abstract that represent a safe driving record.
