Summary
We are seeking a detailed- oriented miscellaneous metals Estimator to join our team. This role plays a vital part in our project planning and cost management efforts, ensuring competitive pricing and successful project execution. The Estimator will be based in Manitoba and contribute to our ongoing commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for interpreting project drawings and specifications to provide accurate cost estimate for materials, fabrication labor, and installation.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication and erection projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to gather accurate data.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Perform precise takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
- Manage multiple bidding deadlines simultaneously.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and related documentation.
- Prepare detailed and timely cost estimates for miscellaneous metal projects (stairs, handrails, ladders, bollards etc.)
- Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably within the steel fabrication or construction industry.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and project management software.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
