The Human Resources Department is seeking an energetic and motivated person to join its team. The Human Resources Department manages a comprehensive range of personnel, labour relations and human resources planning functions within the University. The work environment is high-traffic and fast-paced, and the subject matter is of a highly sensitive and/or confidential nature.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the successful candidate will:

Provide confidential administrative support to the Director and HR Manager that includes maintaining the Director’s calendar, track and schedule meetings, prepare correspondence and track departmental budgets and administer payments

Assist three HR Officers with recruitment and manage the student staffing process

Provide necessary support of grievance processes and other collective agreement timelines

Manage inquiries from the public and employees related to HR processes

Maintain a complex records management system

Assist with maintaining supplies and equipment

Perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Office Studies or a related field with two years’ related experience is required. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered

Experience supporting human resources in a unionized environment is preferred

Clear understanding of the need for discretion and confidentiality

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 is required

Familiarity with the UPEI environment, its regulations and policies would be an asset
