Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and testing complex hardware systems for cutting-edge technological applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in electrical engineering principles, with experience in system design, firmware development, and manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that integrate FPGA, ARM processors, signal processing, and CAD tools to create reliable and efficient hardware solutions.
Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain schematics for PCBA layouts of Passenger Cabin System LRUs.
· Perform multilayer board design including, digital interfaces, power distribution and protection circuits.
· Perform Design Validation Testing of prototype equipment in our and external laboratories.
· Perform component selection based on cost, performance and manage obsolescence.
· Interact with certification engineers to harmonize a cost effective and airworthy design.
· Work with the mechanical team on board-to-enclosure integration and thermal design considerations.
· Perform MTBF calculations based on MIL-HDBK-217F
Create technical documentation to support qualification of equipment
Qualifications
· Has experience with designing for compliance to RTCA DO-160 and DO-178.
· Has experience with AC/DC conversion and DC/DC conversion.
· Can work autonomously with little administrative oversight.
· Is organized and comfortable with tight deadlines.
· Communicates clearly and concise.
· College or university degree in mechanical or electrical design/engineering
· More than 5 years of PCBA design experience focussed on aerospace products.
· Excellent proficiency in use of OrCAD and AutoCAD.
· Knowledge of TCCA/FAA/EASA regulations and specifications such as DO-160.
· Fluent in English, written and spoken. French is a definite asset.
Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
