Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and versatile handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment by performing a wide range of repair, installation, and preventive maintenance tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced setting that values quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for general handyman, general repair and maintenance work
- Knowledge and ability to install and repair drywall, painting, carpentry, t-bar ceilings, tiling, minor electrical repairs, and minor plumbing repairs
- Manage facilities maintenance tasks in residential and commercial settings
- Day to day service calls
- Able to communicate clearly in both written and oral form, work independently or as part of a team, and interact with others in a professional and confident manner
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes during all maintenance activities
- Ability to source materials and parts for jobs
Qualifications
- 5 + years of experience in construction / maintenance
- Standard practices, methods and tools used in the construction trade
- Must have basic hand tools
- Thorough understanding of correct procedures for storing equipment, materials and supplies
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in repairs and installations
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes related to building systems or equipment
- Understanding of health and safety practices
- Valid Working at Heights Certificate (Fall Arrest Protection)
