Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Long Haul Truck Driver from edmonton,calgary to houston tx oklahoma lane to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of freight handling, vehicle operation, and safety protocols. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse routes, ensuring timely deliveries across regions while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability during trips
Experience
- 2 year minimum Proven experience as a Commercial Truck Driver with a valid CDL license
- Prior experience in freight transportation over long distances preferred
- Skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair are advantageous
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot heavy equipment used for loading/unloading freight is a plus
- Strong understanding of route planning, navigation, and time management for long-haul trips
Pay: $44,122.06-$90,000.00 per year
