We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson or 4th year HVAC technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, along with a strong background in plumbing, welding, boiler operation, and mechanical systems. This role involves performing installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment in commercial and residential settings. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics and working with various construction and mechanical components to ensure optimal system performance and safety.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, ventilation units, and boilers.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify system issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting and drainage connections.
- Utilize welding skills for fabrication or repair of metal components within HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge to restore system functionality efficiently.
- Assist with appliance repairs related to HVAC equipment when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for each project or service call.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all phases of installation and maintenance work.
- Collaborate with construction teams on large-scale projects requiring HVAC integration.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman/woman HVAC certification or license.
- Valid drivers licence & clean driving record
- Proven experience in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including familiarity with boilers, appliances, plumbing systems, welding techniques, and schematics interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with construction projects involving HVAC components is preferred.
- Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Mechanical experience in related fields such as appliance repair or general maintenance is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Gas Fitting Certification an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards in all work activities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments requiring physical activity including lifting heavy equipment when necessary.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required
