Job Overview
The candidate must be qualified to perform Manitoba light-vehicle safety inspections and have strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and preparing dealership vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and are ready for sale.
Responsibilities include performing vehicle safety inspections, completing mechanical repairs, diagnosing electrical and drivability concerns, using scan tools, and working with hand and power tools in a professional shop environment.

Duties
- Perform routine and complex automotive repairs, including engine diagnostics, brake service, suspension work, and electrical system troubleshooting
- Conduct thorough safety inspections to ensure vehicles comply with all safety regulations and standards
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components
- Diagnose mechanical issues accurately using diagnostic equipment and mechanical expertise
- Complete detailed service reports and inspection documentation
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations during repair and inspection processes
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Manitoba Qualified Mechanic’s Permit for light vehicles and be authorized to perform Manitoba light-vehicle safety inspections
- Red Seal certification is preferred but not required
- Proven mechanic experience with a solid understanding of automotive systems and repairs
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as required for certain repair tasks
- Experience conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with regulatory standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commitment to vehicle safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction
Pay: $26.00-$40.00 per hour
