We are looking for an experienced Food Service Manager for Apex Kosher Catering located at 100 Elder St, North York, ON M3H 5G7, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
● Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate all food service operations for kosher catering services, ensuring alignment with company standards, client expectations, and kosher dietary requirements.
● Determine food service offerings for events, daily catering, and special functions, and implement operational procedures to support efficient, high-quality service delivery.
● Recruit, supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff, cooks, and support personnel, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to kosher food handling practices.
● Develop, plan, and adjust menus for regular operations and special events by incorporating seasonal availability, client requests, dietary restrictions, and kosher compliance.
● Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, occupational health requirements, and kosher certification standards, including proper separation and handling of meat, dairy, and pareve foods.
● Oversee inventory control by forecasting needs, ordering supplies, verifying deliveries, ensuring proper storage, and minimizing food waste while maintaining cost efficiency.
● Monitor production levels, portion control, food quality, presentation, and service timelines to ensure consistent, high-quality catering outcomes.
● Coordinate with clients to understand event requirements, menu preferences, service expectations, and logistical needs, and ensure catering plans are executed accordingly.
● Resolve customer issues or complaints related to food quality, service, or compliance and implement corrective measures to maintain client satisfaction.
● Inspect kitchen areas, equipment, storage rooms, and preparation stations to ensure cleanliness, organization, safety, and readiness for operations.
● Maintain operational records including inventory tracking, production logs, staffing schedules, food costs, compliance documents, and event summaries.
● Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely procurement of kosher-certified ingredients and maintain consistent product quality.
Prerequisites:
Education: Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management or equivalent
Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in Food Industry
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $36 to $38 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
