The Shield Exteriors is expanding, and we're looking for experienced Field Service Technicians who take pride in quality workmanship and can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
This role is best suited for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of their work from start to finish. We will provide training for the various tasks you will be responsible for. We work year round.
What You’ll Be Doing
Completing exterior service and repair work on residential homes
- Will be driving a company truck during working hours
- Roofing
- Vinyl siding and Hardie board
- Eavestroughing and fascia
- Windows/screens
- Painting and general exterior repairs
- Identifying and completing deficiency repairs
- Supporting Production Managers with ongoing service work
- Maintaining clean, safe, and organized job sites
- Delivering strong customer service on every job
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years experience in roofing or exterior construction
- Strong carpentry skills required
- Solid understanding of exterior building systems and installation practices
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable using smartphones and job management tools
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities when needed
- Leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving abstract
- Physically capable of demanding field work:
- Lifting up to 35 kg
- Working at heights and climbing ladders
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Fall arrest and First Aid/CPR certification (asset)
