Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Manager to oversee daily operations at our automotive dealership. This role involves managing a team of technicians and sales staff, ensuring efficient shop performance, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the service department, including mechanics and support staff
- Oversee automotive repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
- Manage dealership sales processes, including upselling services and products to enhance revenue
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive customer experience
- Maintain inventory levels for parts and tools necessary for daily operations
- Oversee cash handling procedures and financial transactions with accuracy
- Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
- Monitor shop performance metrics and prepare reports for upper management
- Train and develop staff to improve technical skills and customer service standards
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes
- Mechanic experience or mechanical knowledge is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships
- Demonstrated sales ability, including upselling techniques to maximize revenue opportunities
- Experience in cash handling and financial transactions management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
