About the Role
Amaranth is looking for a creative, organized, and community-minded Community & Social Media Coordinator to join our Marketing team.
This role bridges digital engagement with real-world community presence. You will help manage and execute Amaranth’s social media strategy across platforms, including organic content, paid advertising, analytics, reporting, and performance optimization.
You will also represent Amaranth in the community by attending events, supporting activations, building relationships, capturing content, and helping strengthen Amaranth’s presence both online and offline.
The ideal candidate is creative, personable, data-driven, highly organized, and comfortable moving between digital marketing work, in-store content creation, and community-facing events.
What You’ll Do
- Plan, create, schedule, and maintain social media content across Amaranth’s platforms in alignment with brand voice and marketing objectives
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to ensure visual and messaging consistency across all channels
- Monitor social media trends, tools, content styles, and best practices to continuously improve content, engagement, and performance
- Manage and execute paid social media campaigns, including audience targeting, budget tracking, and ongoing optimization
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics, including engagement, reach, conversions, ROI, and campaign performance
- Maintain regular reporting dashboards and provide actionable insights based on performance data
- Monitor and engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely and professional manner
- Help foster a strong, engaged online community aligned with Amaranth’s brand values
- Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, audience growth, and community engagement
- Attend community events, activations, and networking opportunities as a representative of Amaranth
- Capture photo and video content in-store, at events, and within the community to support social media storytelling, campaigns, and brand initiatives
- Support other marketing and community initiatives as needed
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2–4 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, content creation, or a related role
- Proven experience managing or supporting paid social media campaigns
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, tools, trends, analytics, and content best practices
- Experience with tools such as Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, social media scheduling tools, or reporting dashboards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, time management, and follow-through
- Comfortable representing a brand publicly and engaging with diverse audiences
- Comfortable capturing photo and video content in-store, at events, and in community settings
- Experience supporting events, community activations, or brand partnerships is considered an asset
- A genuine interest in natural health, wellness, local food, sustainability, and community connection is considered an asset
Work Location, Schedule & Travel
This is a full-time salaried position averaging 40 hours per week.
This is a hybrid position based in Calgary, AB. This role follows Amaranth’s flexible work policy, with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday spent in office, in store, visiting community businesses, or attending work-related events as required.
Flexibility is required based on business and event needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, and shift coverage.
Frequent travel to and from Amaranth store locations and events may be required. Occasional travel within Alberta/Canada may also be required. Candidates must have a valid driver’s licence and regular access to a vehicle. Business mileage is reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
Physical Requirements
This role includes a mix of computer-based work, in-store content capture, event support, and occasional physical tasks. The successful candidate must be able to sit for extended periods, perform computer-based work, walk, bend, twist, reach, and lift items up to 50 lbs. with available support tools when needed.
