Job Overview
Seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our Machine Shop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to specifications and blueprints. This role requires a strong communication, various welding techniques, mechanical knowledge. We have a mix of repair welding and fabrication. The position offers stability, home every night, great shop ethic, and a supportive environment.
Looking ideally for 5 years experience, GTAW,SMAW,GMAW and possibly Aluminum.
Also looking for someone with an interest to learn some machining when not engaged in Welding Duties. Interest in a second trade encouraged.
Duties
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metal projects, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards
- Operate fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, lathes, and power tools
- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring devices to ensure precise cuts and fits
- Assist with machining tasks using basic math skills and knowledge of machining tools
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures
- Proven experience in welding (MIG, TIG) with a strong portfolio of completed projects, (aluminum or stainless exposure will be favored)
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes and equipment operation
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience operating plasma cutting tools, shop smith, forklifts, cranes, and power tools
- Construction or manufacturing experience is highly desirable
- Ability to use calipers, hand tools, and schematics for precise fabrication tasks
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication processesThis role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in welding and fabrication who are committed to quality workmanship and safety standards.
Pay: $36.00-$50.00 per hour
