We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade 7 - 8 English Teacher to join our educational team. Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for Grade 7 - 8 English courses.
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction that caters to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
- Incorporate technology and computer skills, including Microsoft Office tools, into lesson activities.
- Support students with special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in English language instruction; knowledge of French or bilingual capabilities is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Classroom experience with middle school students, including early childhood education or working with children with disabilities is preferred.
- Effective tutoring skills to support individual student needs outside regular class hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills for lesson planning and administrative tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and time management to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations.
- Writing skills necessary for creating instructional materials, assessments, and reports.
