Gateway Dental Clinic is seeking an experienced Registered Dental Assistant to join our privately owned general dental practice in Lac La Biche, Alberta.
This is a permanent part-time position offering approximately three to four daytime shifts per week. We are looking for a dependable, organized and team-oriented RDA who takes pride in providing excellent patient care and helping the clinical day run efficiently.
Our clinic has a busy and varied general dentistry schedule, an established support team and dedicated sterilization support. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently, anticipating the dentist’s needs and contributing to a calm, respectful and accountable team environment.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday daytime hours
- Regular hours are Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- No regularly scheduled evenings
- No weekends
- Approximately 3–5 days per week
Responsibilities
- Providing efficient chairside assistance during general dental procedures
- Preparing operatories, instruments and materials
- Assisting with restorative dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery and other general procedures
- Placing rubber dams and supporting efficient isolation when required
- Taking authorized dental radiographs
- Maintaining complete and accurate clinical documentation
- Supporting room turnover and smooth patient flow
- Educating and reassuring patients before, during and after treatment
- Following infection-prevention and sterilization standards
- Communicating effectively with dentists, assistants, hygienists and front-desk staff
- Helping the broader clinical team when needed
Experience with oral surgery, implants, endodontics, digital scanning or working in a busy multi-dentist practice would be an asset.
The ideal candidate
- Holds an active Alberta dental-assistant practice permit
- Has previous chairside dental-assisting experience
- Is reliable, punctual and organized
- Communicates professionally and compassionately with patients
- Can anticipate procedural needs and maintain an efficient workflow
- Works well in a busy clinical environment
- Is willing to support the entire team rather than remaining limited to one assigned operatory
- Is interested in a stable, long-term position
Compensation
- $30–$33 per hour
- Compensation will be based on experience, authorized skills, clinical efficiency and overall fit
- Permanent full-time position
- Predictable daytime schedule
- No evenings or weekends
