Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Generalist provides mid-level HR support across recruitment, employee relations, HR compliance, attendance and disability management, health and safety coordination, payroll support, and HRIS data integrity. This role partners with supervisors and managers to promote consistent application of HR policies, support investigations, coordinate health and safety requirements, and enhance HR operations across all locations.
The HR Generalist builds HR capability by providing guidance on HR practices, supporting compliance with employment legislation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR programs and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end talent acquisition processes including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
- Oversee employee relations initiatives to foster a positive workplace environment and address employee concerns promptly.
- Administer HRIS systems such as ADP WFN to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
- Administer employee group benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and communications with providers.
- Provide support in payroll processing and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Coordinate time and attendance tracking, including reviewing employee timesheets, ensuring accuracy, and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain time tracking systems and provide guidance to employees and supervisors on proper usage.
- Support the performance management process, including goal setting, evaluations, and tracking progress.
- Participate in the development and communication of HR policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Implement change management strategies to facilitate organizational transitions smoothly.
- Assist with project management tasks related to HR initiatives and process improvements.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels across departments to promote HR policies and programs.
- Support workplace health and safety programs, training compliance, and employee wellness initiatives.
- Support administration and coordination of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Participate in incident investigations together with supervisors and the Department Managers.
- Provide reception coverage during lunch periods and in the absence of the receptionist.
- Coordinate and support company events, employee engagement activities, and recognition initiatives.
- Occasional travel to the United States is required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HR field, with at least 2- 3 years in an HR Generalist role in a manufacturing environment.
- CHRP or CHRL designation (or active progression toward designation) considered an asset.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or multi-site environment preferred.
- Proven experience in human resources management or related fields with familiarity in HRIS systems such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or DayForce.
- Experience working as a standalone Human Resources professional, with responsibility for recruitment, employee relations, policy administration, benefits, and other HR functions, is considered a strong asset.
- Payroll processing experience, including participation in full payroll cycles, is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation and HR policies to real-world workplace situations.
- Proven experience handling employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, discipline, and workplace conflict.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting or leading workplace investigations, including fact-finding, documentation, and recommendations.
- Experience managing disability and leave cases, including STD/LTD coordination, accommodation, and return-to-work planning.
- Strong advisory and consultation skills, with the ability to coach managers and provide practical, compliant HR guidance.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and HR’s role in validating payroll-related changes (non-processing).
- Familiarity with payroll systems including ADP or Dayforce is preferred.
- Proven experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Strong communication, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
