Kitchen Supervisor / Lead CookLa Patate Eh! – Chelmsford, ON
La Patate Eh! is looking for an experienced, reliable, and hands-on Kitchen Supervisor / Lead Cook to help lead the daily operations of our busy seasonal food truck.
This is not a “cook-only” position. We are looking for someone who can confidently jump into every part of the operation, including cooking, prep, customer service, cleaning, opening and closing duties, supervising staff, and helping ensure the food truck runs smoothly.
The right person will be organized, dependable, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where quality, cleanliness, and customer service matter.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items including fries, poutines, burgers, hot dogs, sausages, chicken fingers, deep fried items, and other food truck menu items
- Work on the grill, fryers, prep station, and front service area as needed
- Ensure food is cooked properly, presented consistently, and served in a timely manner
- Supervise and support food truck staff during shifts
- Help train staff on food preparation, portioning, cleaning, customer service, and daily procedures
- Ensure customers receive friendly, professional, and efficient service
- Open and/or close the food truck according to company procedures
- Complete daily cleaning, restocking, and prep tasks
- Monitor food quality, product levels, and waste
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Help keep the kitchen, equipment, service window, and surrounding areas clean and organized
- Communicate inventory needs, staffing concerns, maintenance issues, or operational problems to management
- Lead by example and help create a positive, respectful work environment
What We’re Looking For
- Previous cooking, food truck, restaurant, quick-service, or kitchen experience is required
- Previous supervisor, lead hand, or shift lead experience is an asset
- Comfortable working with fryers, grills, and fast-paced food service
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow procedures
- Able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and busy event days as needed
- Able to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Able to lift, carry, clean, stock, and assist wherever needed
- Food Handler Certification is preferred or must be obtained

Our ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, cares about food quality, and understands that a successful food truck requires teamwork. You should be the type of person who notices what needs to be done and jumps in without waiting to be asked.
You must be comfortable cooking, serving customers, cleaning, helping younger or less experienced staff, and keeping the operation moving during busy rushes.
Schedule
This is a seasonal position with shifts based on business needs, weather, events, and operating hours. Availability during evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak summer periods is important.
Compensation
Wage will be based on experience and qualifications.
