Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our opening team at a new café concept in Vancouver. The role involves preparing high-quality chai, coffee, and specialty beverages, providing excellent customer service, and helping create a welcoming and memorable guest experience. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new brand from the very beginning.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and tea beverages.
- Prepare and serve high-quality chai, coffee, espresso-based, and specialty beverages with consistency and attention to detail.
- Provide warm, attentive, and friendly customer service to ensure every guest feels welcome.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including the barista station, seating areas, and equipment.
- Handle cash, POS transactions, and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating products.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Support café team with light food preparation and service as needed.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to improve menu items, service, and guest experience.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Represent the café’s values by creating a positive and inviting atmosphere for guests.
- Qualifications
Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
- Proficiency in using POS systems, including Micros POS is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
