Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team (30-40 hours/ week). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, and maintaining a positive work environment. This position requires strong leadership abilities and a passion for the food industry, as well as the capability to supervise kitchen staff effectively.
Duties ( subject to change )
- Responsible for completion of daily prep lists
- Oversight of daily prep lists - cooks
- Onsite event Chef
- Oversee prep cooks
- Manage culinary timelines
- Receiving - in coordination with Chef
- Tastings (as needed)
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills with a focus on quality.
- Knowledge of food service operations and restaurant management principles.
- Excellent team management abilities, promoting a positive work culture.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; kitchen experience is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership qualities with an ability to motivate staff effectively.
- A solid understanding of hospitality principles within the food industry.
