Position Overview
Hillstone Dental is excited to seek a Dental Assistant Level II to join the team and contribute to achieving exceptional clinical outcomes and enhancing practice productivity. Utilizing an expanded scope of intra-oral duties, you will act as a primary clinical partner to the dentist, providing high-level chairside support and performing authorized procedures that directly impact patient outcomes and experience. We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a "Raise the Bar" mindset who is dedicated to clinical mastery and fostering a supportive, high-performance "One Team" environment.
Key Accountabilities
As an advanced clinical leader at Hillstone Dental, you will be responsible for the following core accountabilities:
- Intra-Oral Preventative Care: Perform authorized mechanical plaque and stain removal (coronal polishing) and apply fluoride treatments to enhance patient preventative outcomes.
- Advanced Diagnostic & Restorative Support: Capture digital/optical impressions and take preliminary impressions for study models; apply treatment liners and pit and fissure sealants to arrest dental decay.
- Procedural Mastery: Place and remove rubber dams and matrix bands with wedges to facilitate efficient restorative workflows and ensure optimal treatment conditions.
- Clinical Chairside Assistance: Provide sophisticated support during restorative and surgical procedures, anticipating the dentist's needs to ensure a seamless patient journey.
- Pain & Post-Operative Management: Apply topical anesthetics and desensitizing agents to ensure patient comfort; perform the safe removal of sutures following successful healing assessments.
- Orthodontic & Prosthodontic Duties: Execute authorized tasks including interocclusal records, facebow transfers, and the fabrication of single-unit temporary crowns.
- Radiographic Imaging: Expose and process high-quality digital radiographs in strict compliance with the HARP Act to assist in accurate clinical diagnosis.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Education: Completion of an accredited Level II Dental Assisting program.
- Certification: Valid National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) certificate.
- Licensure: Valid certification in dental radiography approved under the Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) Act.
- Technical Skill: Advanced proficiency in digital charting and dental practice management software (e.g., Tracker, Abeldent).
- Clinical Excellence: Superior manual dexterity and a sophisticated understanding of complex dental procedures and materials.
- Communication: High degree of emotional intelligence with the ability to "Engage with Empathy" when managing patient anxieties.
- Professionalism: A proactive "ownership" mindset with a commitment to maintaining rigorous IPAC standards and continuing education.
