We currently have an opportunity, for a sessional - First Aid Instructor to teach the general public in various college programs as well as inmates in Federal Correctional Facilities throughout the lower mainland (Most correctional facilities are in the Abbotsford / Mission / Chilliwack area).
General public courses:
We primarily run Red Cross CPR-A and CPR-C courses for students in several of our programs, as well as on-demand for non-program students or for School District No. 42 personnel. We expect to run 7-8 of these courses per year with room for growth.
Courses in Correctional facilities:
We have several contract training agreements at federal and provincial correctional facilities. These contracts require the instructor to go into the facility and teach programming to inmates. All inmates are vetted by correctional staff before attending training. The intention of the training is to provide job preparatory training to assist in obtaining employment upon release. We expect 7-10 of these courses per year. Teaching in this environment will require an enhanced security/criminal record check.
