The General Manager (GM) is a key leadership position responsible for the overall performance of our dealership across all departments: sales, service, collision, parts, and finance. This hands-on role demands a strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and a passion for leading people. You will be tasked with driving profitability, enhancing customer satisfaction, and spearheading growth in a close-knit market where family values, integrity, and transparency form the foundation of our success.
Leadership & Operations

Oversee all dealership departments to ensure operational excellence, efficiency, and alignment with business goals.

Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth, profitability, and long-term success.

Lead, mentor, and motivate department managers, setting clear performance expectations and conducting regular reviews.

Lead by example through hands-on involvement, supporting teams as needed to achieve departmental targets.

Conduct semi-annual employee performance reviews and foster a culture of continuous feedback.
Sales & Customer Experience

Establish and maintain exceptional customer service standards, ensuring prompt resolution of any concerns.

Analyze market trends, customer data, and sales performance to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Human Resources & Culture

Cultivate a positive, collaborative work environment built on teamwork, open communication, and employee engagement.

Partner with leadership to recruit, hire, and onboard talented, motivated team members.

Implement training and development programs that support continuous professional growth.

Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and dealership policies.
Business & Community Development

Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and key community stakeholders.

Represent Dauphin Ford at local events and initiatives to enhance brand visibility and community reputation.
Facility Oversight

Ensure the dealership maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment through proactive facility management.

5–7 years of progressive automotive dealership management experience with a proven track record of success.

Comprehensive understanding of dealership operations across sales, finance, service, parts, and collision.

Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire teams.

Financial acumen and analytical ability to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Proficiency with dealership management systems and related software.

Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Availability to support operations as needed, including occasional weekends and emergency situations.

Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is preferred.
