Our Langley facility - Britco Pork is currently looking to hire a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team.
The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to perform daily QA/QC duties ensuring food safety and product quality. You'll work closely with our production team to maintain compliance with quality procedures, company policies, and government regulations, reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
What You'll Do
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and verify sanitation effectiveness through visual inspection and microbial analysis
- Monitor employees and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Perform in-process and finished product quality audits
- Verify critical control points and process controls
- Conduct scale checks, label verification, and equipment calibrations
- Perform laboratory duties including sampling, media preparation, and plating
- Track and maintain in-house and third-party laboratory results
- Document, analyze, and trend quality data
- Support employee training and assist with customer complaint analysis
What You Bring
- University degree or diploma in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or Biological Sciences
- Knowledge of quality and food safety principles, HACCP, and food safety programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment
- Sitting and standing for extended periods
- Typically Monday to Friday with occasional weekend requirements

Compensation & Schedule
Hourly rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
