Summary
This role actively participates during mobilization and field operations. In addition to executing the continuous maintenance of all cable gear and equipment, to be deployed in the field.

Job Duties
· Permanently maintain in good working condition all cable gear and equipment deployed in the field under his care;
· Inventory of all deck gear.
· Mobilize cable equipment on vessels of opportunity with particular attention to safe, efficient operation and preservation of the equipment, with little supervision;
· Work in a safe and efficient manner complying with the company Safety Management Manual and Safety Environmental Policy and relevant rules and regulations issued by company from time to time, the whole in compliance with company ISO Quality Management System and applicable Acts, Regulations and Legislation as well as national and international standards and guidelines;
As part of his/her responsibilities, the Equipment Technician will need to constantly assess their work environment and take action to make the environment safe for his/her self and others around them. The Equipment Technician must maintain high performance standards;
· Performs any tasks as requested by his supervisor
· Consent to participate in IT’s Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental program, and abide by all regulations and guidelines therein
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
· Technical College degree preferably in general mechanics, including knowledge of hydraulics and electricity; or equivalent experience in a related field.
· Rigging experience
· Welding and fabrication experience an asset
· Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
· Strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills.
· Basic MS Office experience required.
Work Conditions
· International travel (40%+) required on regular basis, valid passport required;
· Workdays in field to extend to 12 hours per day;
· Manual dexterity required to use specialized equipment;
· Overtime as required.
