POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Institutional Lead, Student Services and Campus Operations (Chatham), the Junior Support Services C will support the SWAC program by functioning in a busy office environment as part of a team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate tact and diplomacy and will provide outstanding customer service, liaise with local school boards and support students in achieving their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite and organizational skills are required and will be tested.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supports SWAC students on campus.
- Process standard information forms such as completing OCAS applications;
- Asist students with OSAP applications;
- Compiles and analyzes data in order to provide recommendations as to appropriate course of action;
- Prepare operation plans, schedules and terms of reference;
- Represents College in dealing with public by attending appropriate functions;
- Trains, co-ordinates and monitors activities of others as appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of a 2-year diploma/degree in Social Services or a related discipline. Job duties require the ability to organize simple statistical information and to understand the elementary principles of a science or professional discipline
EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with at risk youth. Experience in a classroom environment is considered an asset.
