Thomas Fresh is currently looking for our newest team member in our Quality Control Department.
The Quality Control team member is responsible for ensuring all fresh produce arriving and leaving Thomas Fresh’s facilities meet the expectations of our buyers and customers for quality, labeling, packaging, temperature, and any other specification or requirement as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Performing quality checks per SOP on all incoming product and packaging.
- Documenting defects or concerns with photographs and notes and uploading QA findings and photos promptly after inspection
- Informing Buyer of significant quality concerns immediately
- Slotting/returning product promptly after inspection
- Performing quality checks on product in the warehouse as needed
- Being aware of any consistent quality defects from certain vendors or on certain items
- Keeping workspace clean and free of unnecessary obstructions
- Assisting CFIA inspectors as needed
- Following all Food Safety, GMP, Organic Certification requirements at all times
- Complete Grade Verification on Loads for Export
- Cleaning as required
Required skills:
- 2+ years experience in a Fresh Produce or distribution/warehouse environment
- Strong math and communication skills
- Capable of lifting 50lbs
- Experience operating a pallet jack/forklift and ability to lift 50 lbs on a daily basis
- High attention to detail with mid level computer skills
- Experience in food safety, GMP and workplace safety procedures
Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
