Site Supervisor
Stonehill is a Victoria based residential development firm with a versatile background spanning raw land development and urban infill projects. Today we're executing on smaller scale infill, including single family homes, duplexes, fourplexes, and townhouse projects in neighbourhoods that need more homes.
Over the past decade we've built a track record for delivering quality developments that integrate well into their communities, reflect well on us, and that we can be proud of. Consistent, reliable delivery for our residents, communities, trades, and our partners. We're focused on continuing to grow as an efficient, capable firm that holds these standards as we take on larger and more complex projects.
The role
We're looking for a Site Supervisor to run the day to day on our active residential sites. You'll work under our in-house construction management, with responsibility for keeping work on schedule, on budget, and to the quality standard we've built our name on.
Depending on project complexity, you'll either be running one site at a time or coordinating across multiple smaller infill sites simultaneously. We're a lean team and we move fast, which means the right person gets real ownership of their sites and the freedom to make calls without checking in on every detail. As we build the working relationship and trust, the goal is to give this role real authority over how work gets sequenced, executed, and delivered.
What you'll actually do
- Run the site day to day. Trade coordination, sequencing, schedule enforcement, and quality control.
- Manage subcontractors on the ground. Hold them accountable to their scopes, schedules, and the quality standard we expect.
- Maintain daily site logs, progress photos, and documentation that keeps the project file clean and current.
- Enforce WorkSafeBC compliance across the site. Run a safe job, every day, no exceptions.
- Identify and resolve issues before they become change orders or delays. Flag the ones that need escalation early, not late.
- Coordinate with the Development Manager and consulting team on field changes, RFIs, and inspections.
- Inspect work in progress and at completion. Build and manage deficiency lists and drive them to closure.
- Manage site logistics including material deliveries, equipment, hoarding, and access.
Who we're looking for
- Real, hands on experience running residential construction sites in BC. The right person matters more to us than a specific number of years.
- You've supervised wood frame residential construction through every stage from excavation to occupancy.
- Working knowledge of the BC Building Code, residential construction standards, and WorkSafeBC requirements.
- You can read drawings fluently and catch the problems before the trades do.
- Strong communicator who can hold trades accountable without burning the relationship.
- Organized. You keep your site clean, your documentation current, and your schedule visible.
- Comfortable juggling more than one site when projects allow it.
- You take pride in the quality of what gets built. You don't sign off on work you wouldn't want in your own home.
Where this role goes
Stonehill is growing. The Site Supervisor hired today is the person who helps shape how we run construction in house as we scale up project volume. There is real room to grow with us, into senior site supervision overseeing junior supers on multiple sites, and eventually into a construction management seat as the company expands.
We also plan to take on larger multifamily and commercial projects in the coming years, and there is an opportunity for this role to grow into supervising those projects as the company grows.
The details
- Full time, permanent
- Based in Victoria, BC, with daily presence on active sites across the CRD
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
What we offer
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Performance based bonus structure tied to project delivery, schedule, and quality
- Extended health and dental coverage
- Two weeks of vacation to start, growing with tenure
- Professional development budget for relevant courses, certifications, and industry events
