Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical work, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and have experience in both commercial and residential settings. This position requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation and repair tasks.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or malfunctions.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction and renovation projects to ensure timely completion of work.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times while working in various environments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an electrician with a strong focus on commercial settings preferred.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics is essential.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems is a plus.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and various electrical equipment is required.
- Background in construction or renovation projects is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary for success in this role.
