KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting every customer with professionalism, courtesy, and care.
- Accurately process customer transactions using cash, debit, credit cards, and other approved payment methods.
- Scan and process merchandise accurately and efficiently.
- Operate cash registers, POS systems, electronic scanners, and computers with accuracy.
- Issue receipts, process refunds and exchanges, and respond to customer inquiries.
- Promote and stay informed about current sales, promotions, memberships, and store programs.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout areas, display cases, shelves, and aisles.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and loss prevention guidelines.
- Assist with general store duties and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager or Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- This is a full-time, permanent position.
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday, up to 40 hours per week.
- Saturday availability is mandatory.
- Flexibility to work at other Summit Tools locations as required to provide operational coverage.
- Willingness to work overtime when operational needs require.
- Store hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Minimum of two (2) years of retail and cashier experience.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Strong keyboarding and computer skills.
- Strong mathematical, written, and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
- Self-motivated, dependable, professional, outgoing, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
