Job description:
- Install curtain wall framing, aluminum frames and entrances, doors and hardware, structural silicone glazing and sloped glazing
- Lay out, measure, and install/replace architectural glass and metal components and air/vapour barriers in systems such as entrance ways, windows, skylights, and curtain walls
- Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, or exteriors of building
- Position glass panes into frames and secure glass using clips, points or mouldings
- Work with and install plastics, aluminum panels and other similar materials used as glass substitutes
- Repair and service commercial windows, aluminum doors and other glass supporting structures, and replace damaged glass or faulty sealant
- Work from mobile equipment, scaffolds, and swing stages
- Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and residential buildings
- Install pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames to form exterior walls of buildings
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
- Assist skilled labourer when necessary
- Prep sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
- Load and unload construction materials
- Follow instruction from supervisors
- Ready to learn on-the-job training when necessary
- Perform site clean up
Requirements
- High degree of safety awareness and commitment to safety, their own and other workers
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to travel (11-day runs)
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Driver’s License an asset
- Criminal Record Check – Level 2
