What will you be doing!

Leading project controls activities and supporting junior team members.

Establishing project management systems for planning, scheduling, cost control, and performance tracking.
-
Analyzing project data, forecasts, cash flow, budgets, and variances to support informed decision‑making.
-
Producing work breakdown structures, estimates, schedules, reports, and control documents.
-
Collaborating daily with project teams and stakeholders to gather information, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions.
-
Preparing project plans, risk registers, and forecasts, ensuring documents and approvals are completed accurately and on time.

Performing Earned Value Analysis and applying project control standards and frameworks.
-
Chairing or participating in project review meetings and presenting key performance insights.
-
Managing change control processes, contracts, invoices, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
-
Supporting continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to project controls processes.
-
Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
Education:
-
University degree or college diploma in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 4–6 years of progressively more responsible work experience in Project Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Outstanding organizational skills and strong oral and written communication capabilities.

Ability to synthesize complex information and distill it into clear, concise messages for reports or presentations.
-
Proven ability to network effectively across teams and levels within the organization.
-
Strong questioning attitude with the ability to interpret complex data and recommend solutions.
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
-
Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), MS Access, and working knowledge of MS Visio and PCRS.

Preference for PMI‑SP or PMP certification; candidates without certification must be willing to obtain one within one year of hire.

Knowledge of project management principles and processes as recognized by PMI, with demonstrated ability to apply them to large and complex undertakings (scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change control).

Strong understanding of Earned Value Analysis.

Knowledge of the methods, resources, and deliverables associated with project functions such as Engineering, Licensing, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Manufacturing, with the ability to recommend improvements.

Advanced capability with scheduling software (Primavera) and ability to learn systems such as Cobra.
Security Clearance Eligibility Required
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), requiring 3–5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom.

Location: Hybrid
Located in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, our Chalk River site offers a beautiful natural setting with forests, lakes, and wildlife right at your doorstep. Surrounding communities such as Deep River, Petawawa, and Pembroke provide access to excellent recreation and a great quality of life.
Please note: This is a hybrid position, with a combination of remote work and onsite presence at our Chalk River Laboratory, Ontario.
