Surgical Nurse Educator
We are looking for an experienced registered nurse (RN) or registered practical nurse (RPN) to join our team. This is a part-time position of approximately 16-30 hours (2-4 days) per week.

Located in London, we are the largest private plastic surgery and medical aesthetics office in southwestern Ontario. Our office comprises multiple surgeons, physicians, nurses, skin therapists and an administrative, marketing and customer service team. We offer the full range of private-pay plastic surgery, as well as all non-surgical aesthetic services, including lasers, facials, and injectables, plus retail skincare.
Job Description
In this role as Surgical Nurse Educator you will:
- Provide surgical patient nursing care, including pre- and post-operative education, consenting, follow up and phone calls, before and after photography, dressing changes, wound care, drain or suture removal and any other related tasks
- Triage any unscheduled surgical patient calls and follow ups with surgeon and medical secretary
- Ensure patient’s electronical medical chart is complete and accurate
- Communicate daily with surgical team to ensure a seamless patient experience
- Sanitize treatment rooms and equipment to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Work with surgical team to develop, execute and maintain patient care protocols and educational documents as they relate to surgical care
- Sterilize tools and maintain sterilization logs
- Medical supply inventory and ordering
Your skills:
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Proof of current BLS for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C) for which you can provide proof upon request
- Experience in a related nursing role, including wound care, is preferred but not necessary.
- Experience in an OR, recovery room or with operative patients is preferred but not necessary
- Experience using an electronic medical record system
- Experience taking patient photos for EMR/charting purposes
- Demonstrated clinical skills including time management, organization, prioritizing, critical thinking, and problem solving
- This role requires a compassionate approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Able to keep a positive attitude during very busy days
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality
Pay: Range: $30-$50 commensurate with experience and qualifications
