Duties
- Prepare a variety of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes with authenticity and precision
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to food safety standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
- Manage food production schedules to meet service demands efficiently
- Ensure all food preparation meets quality standards and presentation expectations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for ingredients, and minimise waste
- Assist in menu planning and development to incorporate seasonal ingredients and innovative recipes
- Serve dishes when required, ensuring excellent customer service experience
Requirements
- Proven experience in Indian cuisine with a strong culinary background in hospitality or restaurant settings
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
- Demonstrated expertise in food production and restaurant operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Good understanding of hospitality standards, including serving procedures
- Previous experience working in busy kitchens or restaurants is highly desirable
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety standards
