About the Role
The Landscape Construction Assistant supports the successful execution of landscape construction projects by assisting the Landscape Construction Foreperson and Landscape Construction Lead Hands with on-site installation and construction tasks. This entry-level role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn landscape construction practices while developing foundational skills in hardscape and site preparation.

This role requires a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively with crew members while supporting the completion of projects on time and to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Landscape Construction Foreperson & Lead Hands with the execution of landscape construction projects
- Operate various hand tools and equipment including cut-off saws, jackhammers, laser levels, measuring equipment, drills, shovels, and hammers
- Support the construction and installation of hardscape elements such as retaining walls, walkways, patios, and fences
- Move and transport materials using wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and manual lifting
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites, trucks, trailers, tools, and shop/yard areas
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Support a safe work environment by complying with all health and safety regulations and company standards
- Communicate professionally and courteously with team members and customers when required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in landscape construction or a related construction field
- Basic knowledge and experience using power tools such as cut-off saws, plate tampers, drills, and jackhammers
- Ability to operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under supervision
- Time management and basic problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record considered an asset
