Stephano Group Ltd. is a family owned, Canadian food processing company. We are seeking a skilled Food Product Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for development and optimization of new and existing food products by collaborating with cross-functional teams and keeping up to date with market trends.
Job Duties:
- Assists in the development and commercialization of new products & product improvement in alignment with company objectives and market demands.
- Responsible for creating and updating documentation of recipes or formulas, production processes, and quality control measures.
- Assists in development of new formulas based on evaluation of market research of trends and consumer preferences.
- Participates and assists with experimental trials on products; collect and analyze data; maintain accurate trial documentation; provides recommendations.
- Reverse engineer customer formulas based on company and customer feedback and requirements.
- Maintains a clean and organized working environment adhering to all food safety programs and practices.
- Responsible for ensuring all samples are created in line with the company’s food safety policies.
- Assists with sourcing new ingredients, ensuring they meet the company’s food safety standards.
- Responsible for management of sample inventory including packaging and shipping; organization of displays, and presentations.
- Collaborate and communicate with cross functional teams; assists Production and Quality Assurance teams to resolve ingredients, formulas, process issues, and help manage process changes to maintain regulatory and quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science
- A minimum of 3 years of product development experience in Food Industry
- Knowledge of ingredients functionality, product evaluation, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance principles.
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships and work effectively with cross functional teams
- Adept in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other Company associated computer software and hardware applications associated with the position.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.

The salary range listed in this posting represents the expected compensation for this position based on market conditions and internal considerations. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, and alignment with the role requirements.
