About the Role:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting Project Managers in organizing and detailing job specifics to be ready for construction sites and following site development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers in design, project scheduling, and in-house coordination.
- Prepare project start-up documents.
- Assist in providing quotations, material breakdowns, and development of existing projects, including tracking time and materials according to project contracts.
- Assist Project Managers with all contract documents, including contracts, drawings, execution schedules, labour schedules, specifications, addendums, purchasing, and other pertinent documents.
- Track and coordinate shop drawing submissions and approvals with engineers and trade partners.
- Procure all necessary permits related to project execution.
- Maintain and update the Change Orders Registry and distribute necessary material throughout the organization.
- Establish and update records of all correspondence related to contract activity.
- Resolve, or assist in resolving, contract issues as they arise.
- Support and promote Health and Safety compliance on projects, applying project-specific safety standards and applicable OHS legislation, regulations, and codes with all employees and trade partners.
- Compile and complete company-wide project reports.
- Follow up with superintendents to ensure deficiency lists are completed as planned.
- Track project costs and budget status throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate and maintain open communication with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, suppliers, and engineers.
- Contribute to team efforts to manage projects and ensure on-time completion, on budget, within specification, accident-free, and to the client's satisfaction.
- Other responsibilities or directives as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Experience in the construction industry
- Experience in the plumbing or mechanical industry is an asset
- 2+ years of project coordination experience in a similar role is an asset
- Proficient technological skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and estimating software
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and task-oriented
- Capacity to manage competing priorities and dynamically re-prioritize workloads
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
