As our company continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Construction Superintendent to join our team.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, the Construction Superintendent will oversee multiple residential construction projects throughout the greater Edmonton area.
This position combines hands-on site supervision with broader project management responsibilities, including scheduling, trade coordination, quality control, safety management, client communication, and overall project execution. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining Crimson Cove Homes' reputation for quality, organization, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day construction of custom homes, infill projects, and multi-family developments.
- Coordinate and supervise trades to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
- Maintain project schedules and proactively address potential delays or issues.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure the highest standards of workmanship and quality control are maintained.
- Communicate effectively with homeowners regarding selections, changes, and construction progress.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with trade partners and suppliers.
- Identify and recruit qualified new trade partners as required.
- Review construction drawings and provide input regarding constructability, efficiencies, and potential improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Participate in project planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Additional responsibilities as required and mutually agreed upon.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a residential Construction Superintendent or similar role.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects at various stages of construction.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret residential construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Alberta residential building codes and construction practices.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable using email, smartphones, tablets, and construction management software.
- Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners, neighbors, consultants, and trade partners.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
